Start at the end

Kingman, Arizona

In my quest to find my great grandfather I researched as much as I could on the Internet. I had also corresponded with a third cousin who had located me several years ago after my father died. My father’s obituary was published online. She had my name and found a phone number (landline at the time) for me. My cousin, Joanne, called me, introduced herself and we’ve been corresponding ever since. We share notes on what we find. As much as I’ve discovered, however, I wanted to ‘walk’ in my great grandfather’s footsteps and go where he’d gone. I decided that it was easiest to go first where his life ended, Kingman. So we pointed the RV westward and drove to Arizona.

I’m very grateful for our connection. And grateful for a google alert on Jack Maxcy’s computer.
